Blake Lively has requested Justin Baldoni pay her more than $8 million in legal fees, according to new court documents obtained by Page Six.<\/p>\n
In a filing submitted Monday in New York, the actress sought $7,495,526.87 in attorneys\u2019 fees and $539,514.01 in litigation costs and expenses from her explosive legal battle<\/a> with her \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d co-star and his Wayfarer Studios.<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s legal team said the work required to defeat Baldoni\u2019s now-dismissed $400 million defamation lawsuit<\/a> was \u201ccomprehensive and necessary to achieve the complete win that was secured.\u201d<\/p>\n Blake Lively (seen above on Feb. 11) is requesting more than $8 million in legal fees from Justin Baldoni nearly two months after they settled their lawsuit. Mango for NY Post<\/p>\n The attorneys added that their 38-year-old client \u201chas paid and continues to pay\u201d her legal bills and will seek \u201cany additional attorneys\u2019 fees\u201d incurred in her latest legal request.<\/p>\n The filing also mentioned \u201csignificant press attention, with thousands of indexed and syndicated media articles\u201d that increased the legal costs of the case, noting that Lively has produced more than 7,000 documents since the legal war began.<\/p>\n Judge Lewis J. Liman\u00a0ordered Baldoni, 42, and Wayfarer Studios to respond to Lively\u2019s request by July 13. <\/p>\n After that, Liman will decide whether to reward the full amount, reduce it or deny the request completely, according to the court documents.<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s filing noted there was \u201csignificant press attention\u201d that drove up costs in her legal battle with Baldoni (seen above on Feb. 11). Getty Images for The Met Museum\/Vogue<\/p>\n Lively\u2019s lawyers, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, told Page Six, \u201cThanks to this landmark decision, those considering using a lawsuit as a weapon of intimidation have been put on notice that there are consequences for doing so.<\/p>\n \u201cThe value of this ruling is in the precedent it creates, the accountability it imposes, and the protection it provides to those who may one day find themselves facing similar retaliation for speaking the truth,\u201d their statement continued.<\/p>\n Page Six has reached out to Baldoni\u2019s reps for comment.<\/p>\n Her legal team also claimed Lively (pictured above on May 19) produced over 7,000 documents in the legal battle.
