Manchester United legend Roy Keane has explained why he would be \u201csurprised\u201d if two specific teams do not reach the World Cup final.<\/p>\n
We have now entered the knockout stages of the World Cup, and there have already been several entertaining matches and shocks in the round of 32.<\/p>\n
Germany and the Netherlands have been knocked out of the competition, and there will no doubt be more shocks in the coming days.<\/p>\n
England <\/a>have been mentioned among the frontrunners to win the tournament, but there are a couple of sides ahead of Thomas Tuchel\u2019s side as favourites.<\/p>\n This includes France and Argentina, with Keane <\/a>explaining why he expects these two sides to reach the World Cup final.<\/p>\n \u201cThe French attacking players are as good as any,\u201d Keane said on ITV.<\/p>\n READ: World Cup 2026 Power Rankings as Norway become first Europeans to reach last 16<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBut then we saw that with Brazil. We\u2019ve seen it with England\u2019s main lads turning up against Panama.<\/p>\n \u201cProbably France have got, obviously, more in numbers. But then again, listen, I think Argentina (do as well).<\/p>\n \u201cI think Argentina and France are the teams that have the players and the good options. There\u2019d be no surprise if they end up meeting in the final. I\u2019d be surprised if they don\u2019t meet in the final.\u201d<\/p>\n Ex-Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou agreed with Keane. He added: \u201cJust to put everyone at ease about England\u2019s chances, even in France they\u2019re not happy with the national team.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one is ever happy with their national team. There\u2019s always areas to improve.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I\u2019ve been impressed, because the thing with France for me is, I look at their front five, six, any combination of that, are just absolutely world-class and elite.\u201d<\/p>\n
