When James chipped his front tooth in 2021, it was the final push he needed to seek out a professional to transform his smile.<\/p>\n

He had six of his upper teeth porcelain-veneered years earlier, but James* was not happy with the results: the color was too warm, he thought, and the shape too bulky and round to appear natural.<\/p>\n

He sought out Dr. Arthur Glosman<\/a>, who often sees clients like James.<\/p>\n

\u201cA good 50 percent of my cases are redoing other people\u2019s work,\u201c the Beverly Hills-based dentist told The Looker.<\/p>\n

When James first visited Dr. Glosman, he was unhappy with his smile, including his past dental work.<\/p>\n

After carefully assessing James\u2019s smile and speaking with him about his concerns, Dr. Glosman recommended that he have 10 porcelain veneers placed on his upper teeth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen James smiled, you could see his back teeth, and since we were going to make the new veneers whiter, if we only stopped at the front six, people would see the color difference between the whiter new porcelain veneers and the old, more yellow teeth,\u201d Dr. Glosman explained.<\/p>\n

He also noticed severe wear on James\u2019s lower teeth, which led him to recommend another 10 veneers. This allowed the end results to be consistent in color and shape.<\/p>\n

James visited Dr. Glosman after he chipped his front tooth. During the visit, he shared that he did not like the color of his teeth or the shape of his earlier veneers.<\/p>\n

At Dr. Glosman\u2019s clinic, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.<\/p>\n

\u201cI base everything on the client\u2019s facial anatomy: their expressions, how they speak, and how they smile,\u201d Dr. Glosman explained the design process, adding, \u201cFor color, we consider their skin tones, their lip color, their gums, hair color, eyes, and the whites of their eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

At Dr. Glosman\u2019s clinic, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.<\/p>\n

But the top priority is always health.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s neuromuscular dentistry,\u201d Dr. Glosman said. \u201cI ask questions like, \u2018Do you have headaches? Do you have jaw pain? Do you have tension in your neck and your shoulders?\u2019 Once the bite is correct and the gums are healthy, then we move on to the aesthetics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Glosman transformed James\u2019s smile with 20 porcelain veneers.<\/p>\n

To make sure the veneers are exactly what the client wants, Dr. Glosman lets them test-drive the teeth first. <\/p>\n

For James, it meant removing his old veneers and replacing them with new, temporary ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the next two and a half weeks, he was walking around with temporaries, and when he came back, he could tell me if he wanted things changed or modified,\u201d Dr. Glosman said.<\/p>\n

After the test period, during James\u2019s next visit, Dr. Glosman placed permanent veneers on James\u2014but glued them with temporary cement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis gives him an opportunity to be like, \u2018Oh, I love it,\u2019 or, \u2018I love it, but maybe we can add a little bit of length here. Maybe this can be rotated a little bit.\u2019 Because once I glue them on, they\u2019re on permanently,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

After his transformation, James\u2019s smile was completely different.<\/p>\n

James was more than happy with his results.<\/p>\n

When he left Dr. Glosman\u2019s office, his smile was wider, whiter, and more confident.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe left looking and feeling younger, stronger, and healthier,\u201d Dr. Glosman said. \u201cI present the clients with the best version of what they already have. Not someone else\u2019s smile\u2014their smile, but just an elevated version.\u201d<\/p>\n
