Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham were once again absent from practice on Wednesday as the Indiana Fever ramp up for their return to play in the coming days.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes Sports\u2019 Tony East<\/a>, Clark was not taking part in practice due to her back injury, and Cunningham is sidelined because of an unspecified illness. Both players were absent on Tuesday, also.<\/p>\n

Along with Cunningham and Clark, Damiris Dantas was spotted getting treatment for an undisclosed injury for the second consecutive day.<\/p>\n

When it comes to Clark\u2019s status, head coach Steph White said it was too early to know if the Fever star would be able to suit up when Indiana gets back to work.<\/p>\n

The Fever and the rest of the WNBA are in the midst of the Commissioner\u2019s Cup break and Indiana will return to action on Saturday, July 5, versus the Las Vegas Aces.<\/p>\n

One would assume the break will leave enough time for Cunningham to get right and play on Saturday, but that has not been confirmed as of yet.<\/p>\n

How long is Caitlin Clark out?<\/p>\n

We still don\u2019t have the specifics of her back issue, so it\u2019s hard to say for sure when Clark will be back in action.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo indication,\u201d White said of how Clark\u2019s timeline. \u201cObviously it\u2019s a good time because we have all week next week. So we\u2019ll take this opportunity just to get her treatment, get her healthy, get her back on the floor and see what happens.<\/p>\n

Clark last played on June 24, when she exited the contest against<\/a> the Phoenix Mercury early with the aforementioned back injury.<\/p>\n

Clark\u2019s early exit came in the same game in which she was the victim of at least two cheap shots<\/a> from Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas, who was suspended as a result.<\/p>\n

Thomas appeared to knee Clark in the groin area before hitting her in the throat with a closed fist. This was just the latest dirty play we\u2019ve seen Thomas make during her WNBA career.<\/p>\n

While the Fever did not have Clark on the floor for their final game before the Commissioner\u2019s Cup break, they were still able to emerge victorious, 111-87, over the lowly Los Angeles Sparks. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 26 points for Indiana.<\/p>\n
