The American Heritage Gallery, an exhibition celebrating American Indian art inside the American Adventure Pavilion, is currently closed as the space is without electricity.<\/p>\n

The gallery<\/a> has operating hours listed on the Walt Disney World website<\/a>, but the doors are closed and lights are off inside today, July 1.<\/p>\n

Native communities from seven geographic regions across the United States are included in the gallery. Their art represents the richness, depth and diversity of Native cultures past and present. Among the featured artists with works on display are fashion designer Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo), noted doll-maker Glenda McKay (Ingalik-Athabascan) and Juanita Growing Thunder (Assiniboine Sioux) from the Growing Thunder family of Montana.<\/p>\n

This collection is made possible through the collaboration of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

More Seminole artwork was recently added<\/a> to this space. These items are from the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Seminole Museum and will be on display until September, the\u00a0museum reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We are unsure when the gallery will reopen.<\/p>\n
