Tragic new details regarding James Ransone\u2019s death reveal the actor didn\u2019t leave behind a suicide note before his death by suicide<\/a> last year. <\/p>\n

According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner\u2019s autopsy report, Ransone stated he \u201cwanted to kill himself\u201d and needed to be transported to the hospital, reports TMZ<\/a>. <\/p>\n

While there wasn\u2019t a note, prescription drugs were discovered on the scene when he died. <\/p>\n

An autopsy report shows Ransone (pictured above at the \u201cThis is Duplass: An evening With Jay and Mark\u201d event in October 2015) said he \u201cwanted to kill himself\u201d and needed to go to the hospital. Getty Images<\/p>\n

Ransone was also discovered with ligature marks around his neck \u2014 which is consistent with the manner of his death as suicide by hanging. <\/p>\n

At the time, officers who responded to the scene said they found no signs of foul play.<\/p>\n

Page Six has reached out to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner\u2019s Office, but did not immediately receive a response. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Wire\u201d star died in Los Angeles in December 2025. He was 46.<\/p>\n

He shared two children with his wife, Jamie McPhee: son Jack, 7, and daughter Violet, 5. He tied the knot with McPhee in 2017. <\/p>\n

In the most recent update, Ransone\u2019s widow shared a May Instagram post celebrating Jack\u2019s 7th birthday<\/a> as she thanked her friends and followers for their support during the difficult time. <\/p>\n

She described Jack as \u201cthe most handsome, stubborn, funny, affectionate, strong boy,\u201d adding, \u201cWe wouldn\u2019t want it any other way. Love you to the moon and back!\u201d<\/p>\n

McPhee continued, \u201cAnd to all of our friends and family \u2013 it takes a village indeed. We love everyone so much. Thank you for all your support, love, kindness, food, tears, and laughs these last 5 months.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the end of her post, McPhee said she \u201ccan finally see that every day is a gift\u201d after losing her husband.<\/p>\n
