{"id":738112,"date":"2026-07-02T02:53:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T02:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/738112\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T02:53:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T02:53:18","slug":"sixers-expressing-interest-in-lebron-james-after-trading-for-jaylen-brown-report-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/738112\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixers expressing interest in LeBron James after trading for Jaylen Brown, report says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest in signing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/lebron-james-leaving-los-angeles-lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">LeBron James<\/a>, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7414922\/2026\/07\/01\/philadelphia-76ers-lebron-james-free-agency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">report from The Athletic<\/a> on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Hours after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/jaylen-brown-sixers-paul-george\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sixers pulled off a blockbuster trade<\/a> to acquire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/boston\/news\/jaylen-brown-traded-boston-celtics-philadelphia-76ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jaylen Brown<\/a> from the Boston Celtics for Paul George and draft picks, they&#8217;re reportedly one of several teams interested in James. The Athletic reports the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are among the favorites to land James.<\/p>\n<p>James became an unrestricted free agent Tuesday after spending eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. He helped the Lakers to their 17th NBA championship in the 2019-20 season.<\/p>\n<p>At 41 years old, James is still playing at a high level and makes sense basketball-wise. James, a four-time NBA champion and league MVP, made his 22nd All-Star team last season and averaged 20.9 points in 60 games.<\/p>\n<p>James could start at power forward and step into a starting lineup that features Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid.<\/p>\n<p>Before James joined the Lakers, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/report-76ers-4-teams-lebron\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sixers were reportedly<\/a> one of the teams he had under consideration.
