\n\tPresident Donald Trump<\/a> reported a $10.71 million licensing fee for \u201cMelania<\/a>,\u201d the Amazon MGM Studios<\/a> documentary about the First Lady, as income on his 2025 financial disclosure report.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon MGM Studios reportedly paid a total of $40 million to acquire \u201cMelania\u201d and spent $35 million to market the movie<\/a>. The documentary garnered about $16.6 million at the theatrical box office worldwide, and Amazon subsequently released the pic on Prime Video.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump\u2019s financial disclosure statement also listed a $521,161 licensing payment for the First Lady\u2019s \u201cMelania\u201d memoir from Skyhorse Publishing<\/a> as well as $6 million in net proceeds from \u201cNFTs and other collectibles\u201d associated with Melania Trump.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe president\u2019s mandatory financial disclosure statement, released Tuesday, showed Trump reported a total of at least $2.2 billion in revenue for 2025, more than double from a minimum of $622 million the year prior. Last year Trump earned roughly $1.4 billion from his family\u2019s crypto businesses, including World Liberty Financial, as reported by the New York Times<\/a>. An investment firm tied to the United Arab Emirates government bought a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial in January 2025, \u201craising a slew of ethical concerns,\u201d per the Times report.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump also owns a diverse portfolio of stocks and bonds<\/a>, including securities in media companies Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Skydance and Fox Corp. and in tech companies like Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Oracle. The shares Trump owns in Trump Media & Technology Group, parent of Truth Social, are worth around $900 million, after the company\u2019s stock price has fallen more than 40% this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statement, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said, \u201cNeither the President nor his family has ever engaged \u2014 or will ever engage \u2014 in conflicts of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRegarding the crypto income Trump reported for 2025, Kelly said, \u201cPresident Trump proudly made the United States the crypto capital of the world through executive actions, supporting legislation like the GENIUS Act, and other commonsense policies to drive innovation and economic opportunity for all Americans. All actions by President Trump and his administration are taken in the best interest of the American people \u2014 and any so-called \u2018reporters\u2019 pushing otherwise are recycling the same, tired, false narrative that Democrats and the legacy media have been pushing for a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the \u201cMelania\u201d front, Democrats have accused Amazon of trying to\u00a0curry favor with the Trump administration<\/a> by acquiring and distributing the film, with Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) explicitly calling the studio\u2019s $40 million acquisition price tag \u201cbribery in plain sight.\u201d\u00a0Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has said that it\u2019s \u201cjust not correct\u201d to say Amazon\u2019s deal for \u201cMelania\u201d was \u201ca way of buying influence\u201d<\/a> with Trump and said the acquisition of the film \u201cappears it was a good business decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said on Variety\u2018s \u201cStrictly Business\u201d podcast<\/a> that there was a \u201cvery competitive bidding process\u201d for \u201cMelania\u201d and that the movie did very well at the box office and has performed \u201creally well\u201d on Prime Video.<\/p>\n

\n\tAmazon MGM Studios expects to release a companion docuseries for \u201cMelania\u201d later this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump\u2019s financial disclosure statement for 2025 also enumerates payments received under legal settlements the president was involved with. Those included: Disney\/ABC\u2019s $16 million<\/a> payment to settle Trump\u2019s defamation lawsuit against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos; CBS\u2019s $16 million payment<\/a> to settle his lawsuit alleging \u201c60 Minutes\u201d deceptively edited an interview with Kamala Harris; and payments from Meta ($24.5 million)<\/a>, YouTube ($22 million)<\/a> and X\/Twitter ($8 million) to settle Trump\u2019s suits alleging the internet platforms engaged in \u201ccensorship\u201d when they suspended his accounts after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol (each of the companies had previously explained that Trump\u2019s access was cut off because he promoted violence during the incident). The payments from Disney\/ABC, CBS and Meta went to the Donald J.
