Snelling announced yesterday that he will retire later this month.<\/p>\n

His office already has proactively turned over transcripts and even audio recordings of Mecklenburg\u2019s grand jury sessions in at least a half dozen cases, and outright dismissed charges against some 10 defendants \u2014 with more potentially to come.<\/p>\n Illinois House Speaker Emanuel \u201cChris\u201d Welch yesterday called on a Democratic lawmaker from Plainfield accused of improper conduct to resign from the General Assembly after an internal investigation revealed what Welch said were \u201cclear patterns\u201d of behavior that are \u201coutrageous, unethical, and unbecoming of a member of the Illinois House of Representatives.\u201d<\/p>\n Three men are facing felony charges in connection with the attack on the CBS news crew near Adler Planetarium earlier this week, officials confirmed late yesterday.<\/p>\n More than 3 million people in Illinois \u2014 that\u2019s almost 1 of 4 residents \u2014 are on Medicaid. Many patients have to wait long times for specialized dental care, primarily due to low pay for oral surgeons who perform such procedures.<\/p>\n While the problem has plagued Medicaid patients for years, dental care advocates say it could be addressed if the managed care organizations, or MCOs, that administer the plan would negotiate higher payments.<\/p>\n Moshe Pomerantz\u2019s job is to keep people cool.
