Issa Rae<\/a> has reason for recommending that women shouldn\u2019t settle down with someone who gives them the \u201cbest dick\u201d of their life.<\/p>\n

On the June 3 episode of Blocc Party: An Insecure Podcast<\/a>, Rae, who starred in the former HBO series, and producer Prentice Penny reflected on show character Daniel being an \u201cAchilles dick\u201d for protagonist Issa Dee. In the first season of Insecure<\/a>, Dee cheated on her longtime boyfriend Lawrence with Daniel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think in every woman’s life there’s the best dick of her life and then there’s who she ends up with,\u201d Issa jokingly said. \u201cYou can\u2019t marry the best dick of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress and producer added that \u201cthe men who have the most to offer in bed don’t have the most to offer in life.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cUnless you\u2019re extremely blessed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

In the opening of the July 1 episode, Penny encouraged Issa to clarify her thoughts after she received backlash, although she stood by the remark. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe were talking about the context of Daniel, but yes, I said that women do not settle down with the best dick of their life because usually that is associated with an ain\u2019t shit dude for the most part,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey’re not as well-rounded everywhere else,\u201d she continued. And I didn’t think that I was saying anything that other people don’t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to compare the theory to men who aren\u2019t \u201cbringing hoes home\u201d and \u201cwifing up women you don\u2019t respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I think that that is the same. Your Achilles dick is \u201cnot the person that you ultimately want to settle down with,\u201d Issa continued. And there are other attributes in a good marriage that you should be looking for. I said nothing controversial. I stand on it.\u201d<\/p>\n
