Donald Trump on Thursday posted an AI-generated social media video<\/a> portraying himself as a doctor who claims to have cured some of his most prominent celebrity critics \u2013 including Rosie O\u2019Donnell \u2013 of the fictional condition \u201cTrump derangement syndrome\u201d.<\/p>\n

Outside the AI fantasy, O\u2019Donnell said her assessment of the president remained unchanged. In a statement, she offered her own diagnosis: \u201cHe\u2019s quite ill-and getting worse daily. The 25th amendment exists for exactly this reason. Remove. Impeach. Convict.\u201d<\/p>\n

The testimonial-style video, shared on social media by @realDonaldTrump, features AI-generated versions of celebrities who have spoken out against the president and his administration, including Whoopi Goldberg, Edward Norton and Julia Roberts.<\/p>\n

The video uses hyper-realistic, fabricated footage to portray celebrity figures as regretful of their antipathy toward the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t eat, I couldn\u2019t sleep, constantly angry,\u201d said a deepfake version of Robert De Niro. \u201cI made everyone miserable around me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sporting a white coat and stethoscope, AI \u201cDr Trump\u201d says he was not confident he could help those afflicted with TDS, a term used by the president and his allies to accuse critics of being irrationally opposed to his agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were so far gone, I wasn\u2019t really sure,\u201d the fake Trump says, before promoting his prescribed \u201ctreatment plan\u201d.<\/p>\n

Patients afflicted with \u201cTDS\u201d should \u201cturn off fake news, say your prayers, and if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me, and you\u2019re going to see a remarkable difference in your life\u201d, says Trump.<\/p>\n

Trump has enthusiastically dabbled in AI-generated content, some of it shocking, often to idealize his own presidency \u2013 or target his opponents. Earlier this year, Trump shared an image that depicted him as Jesus<\/a> healing the sick. He deleted the post after a backlash from high-profile Christian commentators and allies, who called the image blasphemous.<\/p>\n

In another, he portrayed himself<\/a> as the Pope amid a feud with the pontiff, Leo XIV. Last year, he gleefully posted a fake Time magazine cover depicting himself as a king wearing a crown. \u201cLong live the king!\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

In February, Trump shared a racist video portraying Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as apes, prompting furious backlash. He deleted the post but refused to apologize.<\/p>\n

The White House has largely treated the posts as humorous and part of the president\u2019s political messaging style. In response to the president\u2019s latest video, Davis Ingle, a White House spokesperson, said posting it was Trump\u2019s \u201cright\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrump Derangement Syndrome is a crippling disease that has unfortunately rotted the brains of many people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
