(WLOS)  \u2014 Three new North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services programs are set to help improve rural health care.<\/p>\n<p>According to a news release, starting this fall, the Rural Health Innovation Fund will distribute $20 million annually to upgrade infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wlos.com\/news\/local\/heat-weather-air-conditioners-costs-duke-energy-cooling-hvac-filter-fans-temperatures-high-curtains-western-north-carolina-safety-outdoor-indoor-community\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">WESTERN NC FACES EXTREME HEAT. HERE&#8217;S HOW TO SAVE ON COOLING COSTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also, the Health Information Exchange Connectivity and Training Program will help connect rural health care providers to other providers through <a href=\"https:\/\/hiea.nc.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NC HealthConnex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The third new program called the Digital Health Literacy Program is meant to expand digital education, the release said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ASHEVILLE, N.C.
