After her time in Hollywood, Heigl resorted to the mountain life in Utah.<\/p>\n<p>Raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Utah first became a vacation destination for her before she eventually made it her permanent home.<\/p>\n<p>During her time in Utah, Heigl also became involved in animal welfare advocacy. She supported efforts to improve protections for wild horses and backed legislation aimed at ending the use of gas chambers for animal euthanasia in shelters.<\/p>\n<p>She supported initiatives focused on improving conditions for wild horses and backed legislation addressing the treatment of animals in Utah.
