<\/p>\nNEW YORK (WABC) — A fast-moving storm barreled through the Tri-State area on Friday night and left plenty of damage in its wake to be cleaned up on the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n
The storms left debris scattered across multiple New Jersey Transit tracks near Hoboken Terminal and a tree came down on overhead wires near Broad Street in Red Bank.<\/p>\n
Some service still remained suspended on Saturday morning, including the Morris and Essex, Gladstone Branch, Montclair-Boonton, and North Jersey Coast Lines.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile crews are also working to restore power to customers. There are nearly 180,000 reported outages in New Jersey alone on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

“Last night’s storms caused severe damage across many parts of New Jersey,” Gov. Mikie Sherrill said on social media. “Many people are without power. The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities is coordinating with utility companies to help restore power as quickly and safely as possible.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile in New York City, the parks department said they have received nearly 950 reports of damaged or fallen trees.<\/p>\n
Nearly 300 of those reported downed trees are in Brooklyn, but officials say many of the reports may be duplicates.<\/p>\n
Officials with the parks department said they are working to clear fallen trees as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n
