Nancy Pelosi\u2019s husband, Paul, is facing hit-and-run charges after allegedly smashing his convertible into a parked car in Napa County before driving off.<\/p>\n
Napa County Sheriff\u2019s deputies responded to reports of a hit-and-run on the 6700 block of Yount Street in Yountville, on July 3 around 2:30 p.m., according to a press release. <\/p>\n
A witness who called 911 pointed officials in the direction of a northbound vehicle seen colliding with the rear of a parked car on the shoulder, causing major damage. The collision also pushed the parked car\u2019s right tire up onto the curb.<\/p>\n
The witness said the vehicle briefly stopped and then drove away.<\/p>\n
After police tracked Pelosi down, the 86-year-old admitted to hitting something but said he wasn\u2019t aware what he struck. He then continued driving until his vehicle, disabled from the crash, stopped working.<\/p>\n

Police found Pelosi partially blocking the roadway in his brown convertible on Yountville Cross Road. The car had significant damage to the front right side of the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Cops determined that alcohol was not a factor in Pelosi\u2019s crash. Pelosi took a preliminary alcohol screening test, and it showed a blood alcohol level of 0.00 \u201ctherefore, Driving Under the Influence was ruled out,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

Police did not arrest Pelosi, which they said \u201cis common for this type of offense, in accordance with misdemeanor arrest laws spelled out in 853.6 of the California Penal Code.\u201d<\/p>\n
The case has been transferred to the Napa County District Attorney\u2019s office for a formal review. A California DMV re-evaluation referral form will also be submitted to the DMV, a common incident for elderly drivers.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson for the Napa County Sheriff\u2019s Office told The California Post that they are recommending a misdemeanor charge of property damage hit-and-run with no bodily injury, in accordance with California vehicle code 20002.<\/p>\n
The Pelosi family owns a multi-million dollar vineyard property in Napa County\u2019s St. Helena, about 10 miles north of Yountville. The Zinfandel Lane 16-acre property includes a home, permitted winery, and rakes in thousands in grape sales.<\/p>\n
Paul once complained of a neighboring winery trying to open before a local planning commission, the LA Times reported.<\/a> He also moaned about the traffic in the area around his property.<\/p>\n \u201cOne thing I would like to say while here, though,\u201d he said, \u201call of us are concerned about the speed limit on Zinfandel Lane.\u201d<\/p>\n Pelosi\u2019s misfortune also came to the national spotlight on another occasion in 2022. An armed assailant broke into his<\/a> San Francisco home and beat him with a hammer, leaving him with a fractured skull.\u00a0<\/p>\n The attacker, David DePape, was looking for Nancy Pelosi.
