The Las Vegas Aces return home on Sunday looking to close out their two-game homestand with a win over the Indiana Fever at T-Mobile Arena.<\/p>\n
Fresh off an overtime victory over the Chicago Sky that moved them into a tie with the Minnesota Lynx atop the Western Conference standings, the Aces have another opportunity to strengthen their position as the WNBA season enters July.<\/p>\n
Las Vegas has won eight of its past 10 games and 10 of its past 11 against opponents other than the New York Liberty, carrying one of the league\u2019s hottest stretches into the weekend.<\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s matchup could be missing two of the WNBA\u2019s biggest stars. Indiana is expected to be without All-Star guard Caitlin Clark, while reigning league MVP A\u2019ja Wilson enters the game listed as questionable for Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, helped transform the Fever into one of the league\u2019s marquee teams by leading Indiana to consecutive playoff appearances after the franchise missed the postseason for seven straight seasons.<\/p>\n
Clark leads the Fever with 8.2 assists per game while averaging 21.2 points, second on the team behind fellow All-Star starter Kelsey Mitchell, who is averaging 21.6.<\/p>\n
Indiana\u2019s league-leading third All-Star starter, Aliyah Boston, anchors the frontcourt and leads the team in rebounds (8.6), blocks (1.3) and steals (1.1) per game.<\/p>\n
Despite Clark\u2019s expected absence, Sunday\u2019s matchup still features two of the WNBA\u2019s highest-scoring teams. Indiana leads the league at 93.9 points per game, with Las Vegas close behind in second at 91.1.<\/p>\n
The Aces, however, have been the league\u2019s most efficient shooting team, leading the WNBA with a 48.9% field-goal percentage, while the Fever rank third at 47.2%.<\/p>\n
Wilson, who has missed just 16 games since being selected No. 1 overall in 2018, is listed as a game-time decision after sitting out the Aces\u2019 past two contests.<\/p>\n
Las Vegas has continued to win in Wilson\u2019s absence, but the four-time MVP remains the centerpiece of the Aces on both ends of the floor. The Aces are tied with the Chicago Sky for the league lead in blocks per game (5.4) and rank fourth in points in the paint (41.6), two categories heavily influenced by Wilson\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n
Wilson leads the WNBA in scoring at 25.7 points per game, is tied with Portland Fire forward Emily Engstler for the league lead in blocks at 2.0 per game, and is averaging 9.4 rebounds.<\/p>\n
Indiana enters Sunday\u2019s matchup with an 11-8 record, good for third place in the Eastern Conference, and has gone 6-4 over its past 10 games.<\/p>\n
The Aces are 6-3 at home this season and enter Sunday\u2019s matchup riding a four-game home winning streak.
