\n\tRob Reiner<\/a> used what would be his final on-screen role to bash Donald Trump as the late actor-director posthumously appeared on the latest episode of Larry David<\/a>\u2019s new HBO show.<\/p>\n

\n\tReiner, who was killed along with his wife Michele in December 2025<\/a>, portrayed George Washington on the July 3rd episode of Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, a role that was kept secret until the episode aired Friday night to kick off the Fourth of July weekend.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the sketch, Reiner\u2019s Washington delivers a speech specifying why he wouldn\u2019t seek a third term as president, which serves as a foundation for those in the audience \u2014 including Larry David and Jimmy Kimmel \u2014 to serve up their own barbs aimed at a future president, an \u201cinsecure, lying asshole who would even cheat at golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, what if there\u2019s some asshole in office, some narcissistic prick who doesn\u2019t follow the Constitution?\u201d David\u2019s character asked of a hypothetical president. \u201cHe could use the presidency to enrich himself and his family. He could send troops into American cities to terrorize and even kill American citizens, all to distract from the fact that he\u2019s friends with a pedophile!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel\u2019s colonist added, \u201cAre you suggesting that the president would taketh the time to challenge anyone who dare make fun of him? As if he were a big baby?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the colonists argued among themselves, Reiner\u2019s Washington sighed, \u201cWe\u2019re fucked.\u201d The episode then closed on an \u201cIn Memoriam\u201d title card for Reiner.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with Variety<\/a>, Life, Larry director Jeff Schaffer called Reiner\u2019s appearance a \u201clast laugh\u201d at his nemesis Trump. \u201cIt\u2019s coming out on Fourth of July weekend, and if it in any way spoils a sad octogenarian\u2019s weekend, then oh well,\u201d Schaffer said.<\/p>\n

\n\tSchaffer said Reiner shaved his trademark beard for the sketch, which filmed on November 13, just a month before Rob and Michele were killed inside their home; their son Nick was arrested<\/a> and charged<\/a> with the murders. When the first two episodes of Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness were screened at a Los Angeles premiere, the Washington sketch was swapped out to keep Reiner\u2019s role a secret until it aired Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt just didn\u2019t feel like the right way to show the world,\u201d Schaffer said. \u201cWe thought long and hard about where the sketch should air \u2026 and ultimately we decided that July 3 was the perfect time. Just let it come out on the Fourth of July weekend, on the 250th, and let it sink in that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
