<\/p>\nCrews prevent July 4 vegetation fires from burning homes in Sacramento County<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNow breaking news we’re following. Crews mopping up *** fire that broke out in Sacramento County that we told you about just about 15 minutes ago. This is on Topiro Tapiro Way and Thimbleberry Drive right next to several homes in the middle of *** neighborhood. KCRA 3’s Denson Cortez is live there. So Denson, firefighters have stopped forward progress, right? That is correct, Lisa. They’ve made *** lot of progress here on *** fire that could have been really devastating, especially how close it got to *** lot of residential homes. I was speaking with some children nearby. They told me, I mean, it got pretty close, I mean yards away from some backyards here. Now they’re just in the mop up phase, right? So right behind me here we got *** dozer obviously cutting that fire line, um, to kind of clean up all this dry grass. Especially this area I mean when you see all that dry uh debris and grass, any little thing could spark up pretty easily here and like I said they’re in that mop up phase we see some *** couple of wildland engines right now just putting off any remaining hot spots nearby you can still see firefighters obviously working through this burned area um and it’s especially important because this fire. Obviously burned super close to nearby homes and obviously it was 22 acreage of burned area here and obviously super close to residential homes. It’s going to be *** work in progress to figure out how this fire started but it doesn’t take *** lot to see if when I point right behind me here see if *** firework goes up in the air. You see all these multiple illegal fireworks just nearby in the area, Lisa. I mean any little spark here could easily fall into this dry grass and really spark up flames. So obviously fire crews are going to have *** busy night here, but obviously it was really close, *** close call, but luckily they’re getting *** handle on it, sending it back to you in the studio. Yeah, it’s going to be *** long night for firefighters. All right, Denzin, thank you. So much. And speaking of fires, we’re following this breaking news. Live Copter 3 over Rio Linda right now, where *** trailer is on fire, and we can see some flames on the ground. You can see *** firefighter there in yellow spraying those flames, trying to extinguish them. This is U Street near 2nd Street, and, uh, we have these live pictures from Liveopter 3, and you can see some damage to that trailer and the firefighter spraying the water on. The trailer just to get all of the flames out, but you can see how much is already blackened. Thankfully they were able to get out all those flames before it started spreading in the vegetation. Again, this is U Street in Sacramento in the Rio Linda area. These live pictures coming in from Live Copter 3, but firefighters are going to have *** very busy night, as we’ve been saying, because you can see we have all these little fires here and there. Some of them. from fireworks, some of them still under investigation. They don’t know, but just *** lot of dry grass and debris out there. So no word on how this trailer caught fire. Uh, could have been *** number of things, but look at the response. You can see how many, um, firefighting personnel, law enforcement is out there at the scene and just getting *** jump on this. So it’s going to be *** long evening. We’re we’re going to get more.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
