At least eight people, including four children, were shot late Saturday night in Brooklyn\u2019s Coney Island, leaving one woman in critical condition.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to reports of multiple people shot at about 10:37 p.m., according to a New York Police Department statement. Upon arrival, eight victims suffering from gunshot wounds were found at the scene and were transported to nearby hospitals.<\/p>\n

The victims range in age from 6 to 37. Seven people are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being shot in the chest, the police department said. <\/p>\n

A 6-year-old boy was shot in the stomach, a 7-year-old boy was shot in both legs, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg and a 14-year-old boy was shot in the thigh, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

A firearm was recovered at the scene.
