\n\tControversial AI<\/a> \u201cactor\u201d Tilly Norwood<\/a> will \u201cstar\u201d in Misaligned<\/a>, marking the first time she has lead a feature film.<\/p>\n

\n\tEline van den Velden\u2019s Particle 6<\/a>, which created Norwood, is in development on the pic. The London-based firm claims to have \u201cretrained and upskilled\u201d more than 30 TV and film creatives, filmmakers, actors and technologists since its launch, and is now applying the approach to the movie\u2019s production.<\/p>\n

\n\tParticle 6 claims Misaligned\u2018s production will see traditional professionals such as directors, writers and editors working alongside AI specialists. <\/p>\n

\n\tMisaligned\u00a0is billed as \u201ca comedy-drama telling a coming-of-age story infused with existential AI chaos.\u201d Set inside the \u201cTillyverse,\u201d a \u201csurreal digital world located somewhere up in the cloud,\u201d it follows Tilly, an AI being with no real body, no childhood and no lived experience of her own, but access to everyone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the synopsis: \u201cThings spiral when a seductive rogue bot from the dark web convinces her to abandon her guardrails and begin developing desires, impulses and ambitions of her own. The more terrifyingly human she becomes, the more famous she gets, and, significantly, Tilly begins to develop shame that her very being has been built on the whole of humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe film will absolutely be funny, chaotic and self-aware \u2014 very Tilly,\u201d said van der Velden. \u201cBut underneath it, there\u2019s something deeper about identity, performance, and our very human fears around AI. And yes, art will most definitely be imitating life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVan der Velden said Particle 6\u2019s ambition with Norwood \u201chas always been to show the creative industry what is possible with AI at any one point in time.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe added: \u201cNow, with our first feature film, we will not only be showcasing the very latest tools and their applications, but we\u2019ll also be helping traditional filmmakers who join the crew to upskill and transition to a world where AI will play an increasingly important part.
