From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it’s investigating the financials of Elon Musk’s pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, ‘The A Word’, which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Week two of Wimbledon kicks off today (Monday 6 July), and while all but one of Britain’s tennis hopefuls are out of the tournament, plenty of homegrown stars are watching on from the Royal Box.

The likes of David Beckham, Celia Imrie and Chris Hoy enjoyed the ultimate VIP treatment in SW19 last week, and for day eight, James Norton and Ncuti Gatwa are among those who have bagged an invite.

Situated in a prime viewing spot, the exclusive Royal Box has been used to welcome friends and guests of Wimbledon since 1922.

The Royals themselves also often stop by to watch the action, with tennis fan Kate Middleton – who has been patron of the All England Club since 2016 – attending last week.

Three fourth-round clashes are taking place on Centre Court today, with Italy’s Jasmine Paolini going up against Alexandra Eala, from the Philippines.

The one remaining British star, Arthur Fery, then faces Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, before the action concludes with Jiri Lehecka, from the Czech Republic, versus the men’s second seed, Germany’s Alexander Zverev.

Here are all the celebrities in the Royal Box today (6 July)…

James Norton

Fresh from announcing that he’ll be appearing in a West End production of Hamlet next year, Happy Valley star James Norton enjoyed an afternoon off.

Roger Federer

Eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer was rightly given a front row seat.

Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss

""(Reuters)

Former tennis stars Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss proved winning Wimbledon fashion doesn’t always mean wearing white.

The couple met when they were both on the playing circuit and have been together for more than 40 years. In her 2021 memoir, All In, King revealed they had secretly married three years prior.

Lenny Henry

""(AP)

Much-loved comedian and Comic Relief co-founder Lenny Henry is one of the many Wimbledon guests to have met the Royals on multiple previous occasions.

The actor was given a knighthood for services to drama and charity by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2015.

Carole Middleton and Pippa Matthews

""(PA)

Royal relatives Carole Middleton and Pippa Matthews, the Princess of Wales’s mother and sister, attend Wimbledon every year.

Ncuti Gatwa

""(PA)

Former Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa beamed as he made his way onto the Wimbledon grounds.

Alessia Russo

""(PA)

England Lionesses star Alessia Russo took her brother Luca along to SW19. Wonder if she stayed up late watching the men’s team?

Jason Flemyng

""(PA)

Frequent Guy Ritchie collaborator Jason Flemyng was among the first arrivals of the day.

The actor has teamed up with the director for multiple projects over the years, appearing in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. His small screen credits include the 2004 adaptation of Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five, Sky Atlantic’s Save Me and, most recently, Trigger Point.

Claudia Winkleman

""(PA)

Claudia Winkleman (inexplicably) didn’t make the cut for the Royal Box, with The Traitors host instead enjoying the – still super luxe – regular VIP area instead.

The former Strictly Come Dancing host swapped the sequins for an off-white outfit for the occasion and posed for pictures alongside her film producer husband, Kris Thykier.

Your support helps us to tell the story From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The…

[72
320910,106956,99,428
post-747826","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-tennis","tag-britain-wimbledon-tennis","tag-james-norton","tag-sports","tag-tennis
["GET
