Taylor Swift<\/a> and Travis Kelce<\/a> can finally enjoy life as a married couple. The newlyweds, who began dating in 2023, finally said \u201cI do\u201d on Friday, July 3, 2026. Their ceremony took place at New York City\u2019s iconic Madison Square Garden and was attended by over 1,000 guests, including many of Swift\u2019s A-list friends and Kelce\u2019s Kansas City Chiefs teammates.<\/p>\n

By all accounts, the event went off without a hitch\u2014but not without behind-the-scenes anxiety. According to gossip columnist Rob Shuter<\/a>, Swift and her team were very worried that her longtime rival, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West<\/a>), might attempt to crash the wedding.<\/p>\n

Sources told Shuter\u2019s Naughty But Nice that Ye was \u201cat the very top of every security briefing,\u201d with a specific plan in place in case he tried to make an appearance at Swift and Kelce\u2019s special day.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a real concern,\u201d one source said. \u201cSecurity had a plan in place if Kanye showed up. His name came up repeatedly during planning meetings. They weren\u2019t taking any chances.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another insider explained, \u201cThe fear was that he\u2019d walk in. The fear was that he\u2019d decide to make another headline at Taylor\u2019s expense.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Ye never showed up, and the security plan was never put into motion. \u201cThe goal was simple,\u201d a separate source shared. \u201cMake sure Taylor\u2019s wedding was remembered for her marriage\u2014not another Kanye moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift\u2019s caution surrounding her wedding stemmed from her notoriously messy history with Ye. Their public feud kicked off at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where Swift won Best Female Video for \u201cYou Belong With Me.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a now-infamous moment, Ye interrupted her speech, storming the stage and taking the microphone to declare Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cSingle Ladies (Put a Ring on It)\u201d deserved the win instead.<\/p>\n

Although there was a brief period where the \u201cBad Blood\u201d singer and the controversial rapper appeared to have buried the hatchet, their feud flared up again in 2016. That year, Ye released the track \u201cFamous,\u201d in which he called Swift a \u201cb\u2014h\u201d and claimed he made her famous. <\/p>\n

Swift denounced the lyrics, but controversy deepened when Kim Kardashian\u2014Ye\u2019s wife at the time\u2014released an edited phone call that seemingly revealed Swift had approved the lyrics. As a result, Swift faced widespread backlash.
