It\u2019s a Beatle bash<\/a> in Beverly Hills.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ringo Starr celebrated his 86th birthday with fellow rock stars and hundreds of fans at his annual Peace and Love celebration in one of LA\u2019s most iconic neighborhoods<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s LA. I love LA, I love the light, and we\u2019re pretty much guaranteed a beautiful day like today,\u201d Starr said as he took the stage just before noon to lead his annual \u201cPeace and Love\u201d chant \u2014 a birthday tradition since 2008.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe started in Chicago with like 40 people,\u201d Starr told The California Post. \u201cWe gave the crowd little cakes and by 8 p.m. that night they were on the internet being sold for a grand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The celebration has since grown into a Beverly Gardens Park tradition, drawing hundreds of fans. It begins with the Beatles drummer posing beside the 800-pound stainless steel Peace and Love statue he donated to the city before cutting a giant birthday cake decorated with his likeness.<\/p>\n

Starr and the crowd then watched a band,The Texans, fronted by Molly Tuttle who played on Ringo\u2019s last two country albums, belt out Fab Four favorites <\/a>like \u201cDrive My Car\u201d and \u201cOctopus\u2019s Garden.\u201d<\/p>\n

The highlight came when Starr\u2019s famous friends \u2014 including Grammy-winning guitarist T-Bone Burnett, drummer Jim Keltner, actor Ed Begley Jr., and his wife, former Bond girl Barbara Bach \u2014 serenaded the legend with \u201cHappy Birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think of Ringo as a great singer. I love his voice, I love his storytelling. He has this beautiful generosity; he\u2019s just getting better as he gets older,\u201d Burnett told The Post.<\/p>\n

Beatlemania was on full display <\/a>for the bash, reminiscent to 1964 when the Beatles first came to LA for their infamous Hollywood Bowl show. Beatle fans displayed signs paying tribute to the band\u2019s iconic albums including Sgt Pepper\u2019s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Yellow Submarine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chris Cater, host of \u201cBreakfast With The Beatles,\u201d America\u2019s longest running Beatles show, was greeted by fans at the party.<\/p>\n

Carter announced just last week <\/a>that his three hour show was reduced to two hours on LA\u2019s KLOS, outraging listeners. \u201cWe\u2019ll get back to three,\u201d he told them. Fans at Starr\u2019s party were eager to find out how to help Carter get the hour back.<\/p>\n
