{"id":750373,"date":"2026-07-08T11:22:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/750373\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T11:22:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:22:15","slug":"wizards-sign-felix-okpara-to-two-way-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/750373\/","title":{"rendered":"Wizards Sign Felix Okpara To Two-Way Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Wizards have filled their open two-way contract slot by signing 46th overall pick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/o\/okparfe01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-07_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Felix Okpara<\/a> to a two-way deal, per <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/players\/transactions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NBA.com\u2019s official transaction log<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Felix-Okpara-Tennessee-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-480162\"  \/>The Wizards made a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2026\/06\/wizards-magic-bucks-officially-finalize-three-team-trade.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">draft-night trade<\/a> with the Magic and Bucks that saw them give up the 51st and 60th overall picks in order to move up to No. 46 to snag Okpara, who emerged as a high-level rim protector and lob threat over the course of four college seasons at Ohio State (2022-24) and Tennessee (2024-26).<\/p>\n<p>In 2025\/26, Okpara averaged 8.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 26.9 minutes per game across 35 outings, earning a spot on the SEC\u2019s All-Defensive team. At the draft combine in May, he measured in at 6\u201910\u201d barefoot with a 7\u20192\u2033 wingspan and a 9\u20194\u2033 standing reach, giving him great size for a big man.<\/p>\n<p>Okpara is unlikely to play a significant role right away in a Wizards frontcourt that will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/davisan02.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-07_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Anthony Davis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/sarral01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-07_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Alex Sarr<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/aytonde01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-07-07_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Deandre Ayton<\/a>.
