The NBA has expressed \u201copenness to working with the EuroLeague but believes the existing framework hasn\u2019t made the most of a substantial business opportunity.\u201d To prove that it is \u201cserious about moving quickly,\u201d the NBA has also retained JPMorgan and the Raine Group to \u201cadvise on league structures and secure investment.\u201d Sovereign-wealth funds are currently permitted only to be minority partners in the NBA, but they \u201ccould be allowed to take on controlling stakes of franchises in the European venture.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/07\/31\/nba-europe-franchise-fees-likely-to-exceed-500m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2025\/07\/31\/nba-europe-franchise-fees-likely-to-exceed-500m\/\">Franchise fees will be between<\/a> $500M and $1B.
