Another clip shows a dense school of fish moving together before suddenly parting as a shark glides through the middle, creating the impression that the fish are making way for the approaching predator.Marine experts note that small sharks frequently use the surf zone as a feeding ground, relying on speed and surprise to catch prey. While seeing sharks so close to shore can be startling, such behavior is a natural part of the coastal ecosystem and does not necessarily indicate an increased risk to beachgoers.The video is shared with the caption: “Sharkies and Bob the heron eating out at a 5-star restaurant.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An eye-catching compilation captures the surprising moment small sharks venture into extremely shallow water, swimming right up to…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":753335,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[51],"tags":[323006,323005,323004,79,201],"class_list":["post-753334","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-wildlife","tag-sandy-shoreline","tag-school-of-fish","tag-schools-of-fish","tag-science","tag-wildlife"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/753334","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=753334"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/753334\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/753335"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=753334"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=753334"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=753334"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
