The spec was written by Daniel Gold, with Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller, Cameron Fuller, Feig and Laura Fischer on as producers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe logline is being kept under wraps. No studio is attached, but sources say Universal likely will get a first crack at it given its relationship with Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tSteven Schneider, Bea Sequeira and Gold are executive producers. Detention is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse Atomic Monster production.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFuller spearheaded the package from the start, finding the script and then bringing it to Feig. While the plot is being kept under wraps, sources say the film will be a horror thriller, which excited Feig, who, after successfully directing global hit The Housemaid this past Christmas, wanted to try something even darker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOnce Feig was on board, bringing the package to Blumhouse Atomic Monster made sense given that Platinum Dunes and Blum had made eight films together going back to the first Purge pic in 2013.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFeig most recently directed and produced The Housemaid, starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, which earned more than $400 million at the global box office, becoming Feig\u2019s most successful film to date. He is in pre-production on a sequel, The Housemaid\u2019s Secret, set for release on December 17, 2027. His proven track record of films have combined to gross more than $1.6 billion worldwide, including Bridesmaids, Last Christmas, The Heat, Ghostbusters, Spy, A Simple Favor and its sequel Another Simple Favor, which broke records as Prime Video\u2019s second most-watched original thriller ever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tGold is penning Ride Along 3 for Universal. He also recently sold his spec Tough Guys, a comedy to star Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell, to Amazon MGM Studios, <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFeig is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer Weber &amp; Dern.
