(7News) \u2014 A rabid cat, bat, raccoons and skunks have been confirmed across four <a href=\"https:\/\/wjla.com\/topic\/Virginia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Virginia counties<\/a>, according to the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/wjla.com\/topic\/Rabies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">rabid animals<\/a> were found during the first quarter of 2026 in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Orange counties. <\/p>\n<p>RELATED | <a href=\"https:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/local\/rabid-cat-kittens-chantilly-health-officials-warn-possible-exposure-loudoun-county-crossfield-drive-center-street-rabies-alert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Person exposed to rabid cat in Chantilly<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They included one bat and one skunk in Culpeper, three raccoons and one skunk in Fauquier, one skunk in Madison and one cat and one skunk in Orange. Officials said no human exposures have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>The health district said rabies is commonly found in Virginia wildlife, particularly raccoons, skunks and bats.
