Everyone loves a nice ice cream treat on a hot summer day. But for one golfer, an ice cream cone became more than just a treat \u2013 it may have become a good luck charm.\u00a0<\/p>\n
While Charley Hull opened the Evian Championship with two bogeys on her first six holes, she quickly turned it around and played her last 12 holes in 7-under par.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the hot stretch, she stopped to hold an ice cream cone mid-round.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But contrary to what many think, she didn\u2019t swallow any ice cream.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t eat the ice cream. My boyfriend got it for my caddie, so I held it for a minute when he was putting my club in the bag,\u201d Hull told reporters<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hull said she does eat during golf tournaments, but her dietary plan is more nutritious, including items like bars and bananas.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI always eat every other hole,\u201d Hull said. \u201cSo I eat on the third, the fifth, and the seventh, and then just every hole in pretty much.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Hull said she didn\u2019t have ice cream, her turnaround was still sparked by confidence and resilience.\u00a0<\/p>\n Charley Hull of England tees off on the fourth hole during the second round of The Amundi Evian Championship 2026 at Evian Resort Golf Club on July 10, 2026 in Evian-les-Bains, France.
