While assisting with drills and draft evaluations, he also helped orient new players and hold Bible studies as well as religious services (h\/t SI.com&#8217;s <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/texans\/onsi\/news\/houston-texans-jack-easterby-nick-caserio-fired-new-england-patriots\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Mike D&#8217;Abate<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Once Easterby joined the Texans, his shared tenure with Hopkins didn&#8217;t last long.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Houston <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/stunner-texans-trade-deandre-hopkins-to-cardinals-0ap3000001106405\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">traded<\/a> the receiver, who was coming off his fourth Pro Bowl nod at the time, to the Arizona Cardinals in March 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Easterby <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/2921829-report-easterby-insisted-texans-trade-deandre-hopkins-wouldnt-use-wrs-name\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a> pushed for the Texans to move Hopkins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Houston struggled following the wideout&#8217;s departure, compiling a 7-26-1 record across the next two years.
