Rosie O\u2019Donnell predicted President Trump\u00a0\u201cwon\u2019t survive that long\u201d when asked if she would make good on her promise to leave the country until the 2028 election<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fierce Trump critic made the remark\u00a0while appearing on<\/a>\u00a0CNN\u2019s \u201cThe Lead with Jake Tapper\u201d on Friday, where she said the president\u2019s \u201cdemise is visible\u201d while pointing to unsubstantiated claims regarding his health.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you posted about leaving the US, you said you might return when, \u2018It\u2019s safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America.\u2019 Does that mean that when Trump leaves office, presumably in January 2029, you\u2019ll come back \u2014 or it depends on who wins the election in 2028?\u201d Tapper asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I don\u2019t think, Jake, that he is going to survive that long,\u201d\u00a0O\u2019Donnell said. \u201cAll the medical doctors that you can get accurate opinions of what\u2019s happening to him because his demise is visible and apparent to everyone who is not willfully blind.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell went on to point to an incident earlier this week, in which Trump appeared to refer to\u00a0Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky\u00a0as \u201cPutin\u201d while at this week\u2019s NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, he called Zelensky, \u2018Putin,\u2019\u201d O\u2019Donnell added. \u201cHe makes the kind of mistakes that you would forgive at Thanksgiving dinner, but you would never let grandpa cut the turkey because it might be dangerous because he doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s saying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tapper then piled onto O\u2019Donnell\u2019s comments, referring to comments made by Trump moments later in which he appeared to call Iran the \u201cIslamic Republic of Japan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t forget to refer to the Islamic Republic of Japan, I think, as well,\u201d Tapper said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCorrect,\u201d O\u2019Donnell replied. \u201cI mean, we can sit here and name them. There are so many obvious understandings of\u00a0his dementia\u00a0and how it\u2019s taking over.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment on O\u2019Donnell\u2019s comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell\u00a0moved to Ireland\u00a0in January 2025 with her teenage son<\/a> after Trump won re-election in 2024, citing the changing political climate and her longtime feud with the president.<\/p>\n

Trump later blasted the comedian in two separate Truth Social posts, while threatening to\u00a0revoke her citizenship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of the fact that Rosie O\u2019Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,\u201d he wrote in July 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!\u201d<\/p>\n

He later doubled down on his claims in September 2025, writing, \u201cShe is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!\u201d<\/p>\n

In June, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel said during his show that he asked O\u2019Donnell, among others, if she would guest host his show during his two-month vacation<\/a>, framing the choice as a \u201cspecial treat\u201d for Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked one of his all-time favorites \u2014 Rosie O\u2019Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming,\u201d Kimmel said.
