Rumors and leaks once again started surrounding Huawei Mate 80 Air<\/a>, and the latest one flowing in says that the new Airy phone could debut with a new Kirin 9030 series chip. If true, it would be a real upgrade over the previous-generation model.<\/p>\n

The information is coming from @SmartPikachu<\/a>. The tipster said that, in addition to the rumored Nova Air<\/a> phone, Huawei is also working on the Mate 80 Air.<\/p>\n

Per the new leak, Huawei Mate 80 Air will launch in the second half of this year with the same 7-inch screen mold, a quad-curved display, and a new 5G chip<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This new mobile SoC could belong to the Kirin 9030<\/a> series family. And looks like we may witness the concept of \u201cdual processors\u201d once again with the top Air phone.<\/p>\n

Last year, Huawei introduced its first Air handset \u2013 the Mate 70 Air<\/a> with two Kirin 5G chips: Kirin 9020A and 9020B. The company used the A-tagged version for the high-end 16GB RAM variant, whereas the 9020B for the 12GB RAM option.<\/p>\n

Based on the latest leak, it seems the tech giant may follow the same trick for the Mate 80 Air and optimize the cores of the Kirin 9030. However, whether it will bring two chips or rely on a single processor is unclear at present.<\/p>\n

Huawei Kirin 9020A\/9020B chips are considered far more power-efficient than the Pura 80\u2019s processor, Kirin 9010S. Though when it comes to performance, the right order can be:<\/p>\n

Kirin 9020 > Kirin 9010S > Kirin 9020A > Kirin 8020 > Kirin 9020B<\/p>\n

Kirin 9020A: The chip has a 12-core structure with two large cores at 2.40GHz, six medium cores of 2.00GHz, and four small cores of 1.60GHz, coupled with the Maleoon 920 GPU.<\/p>\n

Kirin 9020B: The B-tagged mobile processor is slightly inferior and mainly used for tablets. It has two large cores of 2.40GHz, four medium cores of 2.00GHz, and three small cores of 1.60GHz. The main difference is in the number of cores.<\/p>\n
