Geno Smith had yet another encounter with cops<\/a> in Florida last week.<\/p>\n

The New York Jets quarterback\u2019s latest run-in with the Davie Police Department occurred at 11:20 a.m. on July 6 after he was accused of going 25 mph over the speed limit near his mansion in Davie.<\/p>\n

Smith received a compliment for the 2025 silver Aston Martin he was in before he was chided for the way he was driving it, body camera footage obtained by The California Post shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, sir,\u201d the policeman said to Smith, according to the video. \u201cBeautiful car. Seventy miles an hour, man, that\u2019s too fast for 45.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cop accused Geno Smith of driving 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. Davie Police Dept<\/p>\n

Smith was then asked to present his license, but he informed the cop that he didn\u2019t have it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI live right here; my license and everything is in my house,\u201d Smith said, before he revealed the vehicle belonged to a friend.<\/p>\n

The traffic stop occurred just blocks away from Geno Smith\u2019s Florida mansion. Davie Police Dept<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the cop took down Smith\u2019s information and explained to him he was required to have a physical ID on him at all times.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy bad,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n

Smith was eventually given two citations \u2014 one for unlawful speed and another for not carrying his license \u2014 before he was allowed to leave.<\/p>\n

The incident marked the third time in the last three months that Smith has been questioned by the Davie PD.<\/p>\n

In April, Smith was pulled over for allegedly driving a Rolls Royce with improper tags, and he and police did not have the most pleasant exchange<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last month, cops showed up to his house to question him after a woman alleged he \u201cbeat me up<\/a>\u201d in a heated dispute. Police initially closed a probe into the matter but reopened it and an investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

Smith, who was traded to the Jets this offseason from the Raiders, has not yet publicly commented on any of his three meetings with police officers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Geno Smith had yet another encounter with cops in Florida last week.
