ATLANTA \u2014 An Atlanta rap legend has decided the time has come to put down the mic.<\/p>\n
T.I. confirmed to PEOPLE<\/a> that his 12th and latest album, \u201cKill the King,\u201d will be his last.<\/p>\n After decades in the studio, the rapper, 45, says he actually took a step back several years ago.<\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks<\/a>]<\/p>\n \u201cI had been living a retired life for some time, probably since the pandemic,\u201d he said. \u201cI just kind of got used to being home and being around, and I just didn\u2019t want to do so much, for lack of better words, work.\u201d<\/p>\n But he said he felt like he couldn\u2019t just walk away without saying goodbye, so \u201cKill the King\u201d was born.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that [this was] to have a project and say, \u2018Hey man, this is it. Thank you for all the love and support. I\u2019ll catch y\u2019all on the flip side,\u2019\u201d he told PEOPLE<\/a>.<\/p>\n The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, is known for a long list of chart toppers including \u201cWhatever You Like,\u201d \u201cWhat You Know\u201d and \u201cLive Your Life.\u201d<\/p>\n The self-proclaimed \u201cKing of the South\u201d also had a career has a businessman and actor, starring in the \u201cFast and the Furious\u201d franchise and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n
