(WECT) &#8211; H2GO has joined some other local water utility companies in setting mandatory irrigation schedules for customers as the drought in southeastern North Carolina continues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, drought conditions across southeastern North Carolina continues to worsen, with some counties reaching the highest drought classification on record.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As of June 29, H2GO customers have been asked to adhere to the following mandatory irrigation schedule:<\/p>\n<p>No watering on MondaysOdd addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and SaturdaysEven addresses water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cH2GO\u2019s priority is to maintain reliable water service for public health, fire protection, and essential household needs,\u201d the company said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/1J5SMa9s9r\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/1J5SMa9s9r\/\">Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">H2GO also suggests the following tips to conserve water:<\/p>\n<p>Limit irrigation to what is necessary for plant survivalReduce irrigation run times wherever possibleAvoid watering after rainfall or when soil remains moistInspect systems for leaks, overspray, or inefficienciesPostpone non-essential outdoor water use during peak demand periods<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At this time, H2GO has not issued any additional restrictions for water conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WECT.
