Savannah Guthrie<\/a> was absent from the Today<\/a> news desk again on Monday, July 13, despite reports that she would be returning to her seat following a period of time off. The 54-year-old, who is still desperately searching for her missing mother<\/a>, Nancy Guthrie<\/a>, was replaced by Sheinelle Jones<\/a> on Monday’s Today\u00a0show broadcast, raising concern amongst fans of the journalist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Savannah took time off the previous week<\/a> to be with her family and friends, and was seen enjoying the Norway vs. Brazil World Cup match<\/a> with her husband, Mike Feldman, her co-host Craig Melvin<\/a>, and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Craig, who headed the broadcast on Monday morning, did not comment on Savannah’s whereabouts, causing many to speculate that an update in the case of her missing mother had surfaced.<\/p>\n

Savannah was absent from Monday’s episode of Today (GC Images)<\/p>\n

Nancy went missing on February 1 at her home in Tucson, Arizona, with authorities still searching for answers five months later. While droplets of blood were found on her doorstep, and video footage of a masked individual dismantling her doorbell camera was released to the public, police have yet to arrest any suspects.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Savannah and her family, including her sister, Annie Guthrie, and her brother, Camron Guthrie, have made several public pleas for any information as to her whereabouts, even offering a $1 million reward. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The mom of two bravely returned to Today\u00a0in April, and has since opened up about the harrowing ordeal on the show. On June 23, when Craig reported on a ransom note sent to various media outlets, Savannah shared an emotional moment with her colleagues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I love you guys, and I love this place, and this is unusual and unprecedented, to say the least, to be sitting here,” she began after coverage of the story had ended.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I don’t have any comment on this story, and I’m not involved in our coverage, but\u00a0I can’t pretend I’m not here. And so since I am, I wanted to just take the opportunity to ask people, really to beg people, to come forward. Somebody knows something.”<\/p>\n

She continued: “This is a news story today that is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live, every day.”<\/p>\n

“And we are in agony, and we cannot be at peace. So, no matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy \u2013 and I will, I promise I will \u2013 this is a moment to tell you that we need your help, we’re begging for your help, and I’m not gonna miss that opportunity.”<\/p>\n

Savannah made an emotional on-air plea (NBC)<\/p>\n

“Please, if you’re watching, no matter how small, the reward is there,” Savannah pleaded. “You can tell us. It can be anonymous. Please, do the right thing for us, for our family, for our children. And we love our mom, and we’ll never stop looking for her, ever.”<\/p>\n
