{"id":762227,"date":"2026-07-14T11:09:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T11:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/762227\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T11:09:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T11:09:08","slug":"cam-ward-on-his-we-ass-comment-i-was-raised-to-be-honest-when-i-said-that-i-meant-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/762227\/","title":{"rendered":"Cam Ward on his &#8220;We ass&#8221; comment: I was raised to be honest, when I said that, I meant it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the Titans\u2019 26-0 loss to the Texans dropped them to 0-4 last season, quarterback Cam Ward gave a famously candid assessment of his team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we keep it a buck right now, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/cam-ward-pulls-no-punches-about-titans-0-4-start\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">we ass<\/a>,\u201d Ward said.<\/p>\n<p>Ward\u2019s rookie season is now being featured on the Netflix Quarterback show, and when he reflected on the \u201cWe ass\u201d comment, he says he was just trying to give an accurate assessment of his team\u2019s performance, including his own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s how I\u2019ve been my whole life. That\u2019s how I was raised, to be honest. That\u2019s how I was brought up,\u201d Ward said. \u201cFor myself, I\u2019m not playing my best ball that game, and when I said that, I meant it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Titans earned their first win of the season in their next game after Ward\u2019s candid comment, so perhaps Ward\u2019s honesty spurred something in his teammates. It still proved to be an ugly season for the Titans, who fired head coach Brian Callahan during the season and finished 3-14.
