John Elway won\u2019t face any charges in connection to the death of his longtime agent,<\/a> Jeff Sperbeck, who died in April after falling off a golf cart<\/a> the former Broncos quarterback was driving<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Riverside County (Calif.) Sheriff\u2019s Office will be announcing that its investigation found no criminal activity and that Sperbeck\u2019s death was an accident.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s over,\u2019\u2019 Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco told 9NEWS<\/a> on Friday. \u201cWe\u2019ve talked to everyone involved and we found nothing new. There was nothing criminal, it was what we\u2019ve been saying all along that this was a tragic accident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sperbeck, 62, died on April 30, four days after he fell off of the back of a golf cart at The Madison Club in La Quinta, Calif.<\/p>\n

Sperbeck was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and placed on life support.<\/p>\n

The Riverside Sheriff\u2019s Coroner ruled in May<\/a> that Sperbeck\u2019s death was the result of \u201cblunt head trauma,\u201d and that the manner of death was \u201caccident.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are no words to truly express the profound sadness I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me,\u201d Elway, 65, said in a statement after Sperbeck\u2019s death. \u201cMy heart and deepest sympathies go out to Jeff\u2019s wife, Cori; his children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and everyone who knew and loved him. Jeff will be deeply missed for the loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love he brought into my life and the lives of so many others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sperbeck became Elway\u2019s agent in the 1990s and the two later became business partners, starting a winery called 7Cellars.<\/p>\n
