While the studio has not formally announced the project, sources told Variety that Mulligan will play Mrs. Greenwood \u2014 mother to Eilish\u2019s protagonist Esther Greenwood in the adaptation of the famed Sylvia Plath novel. Sarah Polley (\u201cWomen Talking\u201d) will direct.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tReps for Focus and Mulligan had no immediate comment on the matter. Plan B, Studiocanal and Joy Coalition are producing the project, which is also rumored to include \u201cHeated Rivalry\u201d star Connor Storrie in its ensemble.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMulligan is a three-time Oscar nominee for her acclaimed work in the films \u201cAn Education,\u201d \u201cPromising Young Woman\u201d and Bradley Cooper\u2019s \u201cMaestro.\u201d Opposite Oscar Isaac, Mulligan earned praise for her withering performance this year in the second season of Lee Sung Jin\u2019s second season of \u201cBeef\u201d at Netflix.
