\n\tOne month after being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Taylor Swift<\/a> is nominated for induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame<\/a>. Swift is vying for induction in the contemporary songwriter\/artists category with Miranda Lambert<\/a>, Chris Stapleton<\/a> and Phil Vassar. One inductee will be chosen in this category.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Nashville SHOF also announced eight nominees in the contemporary songwriters category. Two inductees will be chosen in that category. The honorees will be elected by Hall of Fame members and other professional songwriters and artists.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe entire slate of inductees elected in these and three other categories will be announced in the coming weeks and officially inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame later this year.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell-deserved congratulations to all the nominees in our contemporary categories,\u201d NaSHOF executive director Mark Ford said in a statement. \u201cWe look forward to announcing those who will be inducted this fall as members of our Class of 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSince 1970, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has enshrined 254 \u201cof the greatest writers from all genres of music ever to put words to music in Music City,\u201d as the organization puts it. Operated by the non-profit Nashville Songwriters Foundation, the Hall of Fame is dedicated to honoring Nashville\u2019s rich legacy of songwriting excellence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAs with the Songwriters Hall of Fame, all nominees experienced their first significant songs at least 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere\u2019s a capsule description for each of the nominees in the two contemporary categories. The information is supplied by Nashville SHOF, supplemented by research into their Grammy histories, if any.<\/p>\n

\t\tNominees: Contemporary songwriter\/artists category\t<\/p>\n

\n\tMiranda Lambert: The Texas native is a three-time Grammy winner, though she has yet to win in a songwriting category. (That latter fact will very likely change at the 2027 awards<\/a>.) \u00a0Her songwriting credits include her own \u201cAutomatic\u201d and \u201cOver You,\u201d as well as \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d by Ella Langley. Fun fact: \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d has logged 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, longer than any Swift hit to date.<\/p>\n

\n\tChris Stapleton: The Kentucky native is a 12-time Grammy winner, including three wins for best country song, for \u201cBroken Halos,\u201d \u201cCold\u201d and \u201cWhite Horse.\u201d His other songwriting credits include his own \u201cStarting Over,\u201d as well as \u201cNever Wanted Nothing More\u201d by Kenny Chesney.<\/p>\n

\n\tTaylor Swift: The Pennsylvania-born, Nashville-raised songwriter is a 14-time Grammy winner, including three wins in songwriting categories: best country song for \u201cWhite Horse\u201d and \u201cMean,\u201d and best song written for visual media for \u201cSafe & Sound\u201d from The Hunger Games. Swift\u2019s other credits include her own \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d and \u201cLove Story,\u201d as well as \u201cBetter Man\u201d by Little Big Town. Swift made history at the SHOF ceremony, becoming the youngest woman ever to be inducted and the first past recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award to be inducted.<\/p>\n

\n\tPhil Vassar: The Virginia native\u2019s songwriting credits include his own \u201cIn a Real Love\u201d and \u201cJust Another Day in Paradise,\u201d as well as \u201cBye, Bye\u201d by Jo Dee Messina.<\/p>\n

\t\tNominees: Contemporary songwriters category\t<\/p>\n

\n\tJim Beavers: The Texas native\u2019s songwriting credits include \u201cDrink a Beer\u201d by Luke Bryan, \u201cSideways\u201d by Dierks Bentley and \u201cWatching Airplanes\u201d by Gary Allan.<\/p>\n

\n\tShawn Camp: The Arkansas native is a two-time Grammy winner for his work on Guy Clark\u2019s My Favorite Picture of You (best contemporary folk album) and The Earls of Leicester\u2019s eponymous album (best bluegrass album). Camp\u2019s songwriting credits include \u201cA Beautiful Time\u201d by Willie Nelson, \u201cHow Long Gone\u201d by Brooks & Dunn and \u201cTwo Pi\u00f1a Coladas\u201d by Garth Brooks.<\/p>\n

\n\tRodney Clawson: The Texas native is a two-time Grammy nominee for best country song for cowriting \u201cI Saw God Today\u201d by George Strait and \u201cAmerican Kids\u201d by Kenny Chesney. Clawson\u2019s songwriting credits also include \u201cAmarillo Sky\u201d by Jason Aldean and \u201cDrunk on You\u201d by Luke Bryan.<\/p>\n

\n\tDallas Davidson: The Georgia native\u2019s songwriting credits include \u201cBoys \u2019Round Here\u201d by Blake Shelton with Pistol Annies & Friends, \u201cJust a Kiss\u201d by Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum) and \u201cOne of Them Girls\u201d by Lee Brice.<\/p>\n

\n\tMarv Green: The Southern California native received a Grammy nod for best country song for cowriting \u201cAmazed\u201d by Lonestar. His other songwriting credits include \u201cI Called Mama\u201d by Tim McGraw and \u201cWasted\u201d by Carrie Underwood.<\/p>\n

\n\tLee Thomas Miller: The Kentucky native has received three Grammy nods for best country song for cowriting \u201cThe Impossible\u201d by Joe Nichols, \u201cIn Color\u201d by Jamey Johnson and \u201cYou\u2019re Gonna Miss This\u201d by Trace Adkins.<\/p>\n

\n\tNeil Thrasher: The Alabama native\u2019s songwriting credits include \u201cHow Country Feels\u201d by Randy Houser, \u201cThere Goes My Life\u201d by Kenny Chesney and \u201cTry That in a Small Town\u201d by Jason Aldean.\u00a0<\/p>\n
