I\u2019ve spent 40 years of my working life budgeting and saving to have a good retirement with my savings plus my expected Social Security benefits. This includes bringing lunch from home and taking modest family vacations.<\/p>\n<p>A means-based Social Securty system? Talk about destroying the middle class. Punishing planners and savers while rewarding non-savers? The thought of some government agency telling me, \u201cSorry, you saved too much for retirement, we\u2019re giving your share of the benefit you planned for to someone else who didn\u2019t save\u201d is gut-wrenching.<\/p>\n<p>What is next?
