Late-night host Jimmy Fallon<\/a> swiped at\u00a0former President Joe Biden\u00a0on Wednesday during \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d after the ex-president announced<\/a> he would be releasing a memoir in November.<\/p>\n

Biden\u2019s memoir<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cPromise Me, America,\u201d will chronicle his presidency and reveal the \u201cdeeply agonizing calculation\u201d behind his decision to\u00a0withdraw from the 2024\u00a0presidential race<\/a>, according to a press release announcing the book. <\/p>\n

The memoir is set to come out on Nov. 17, about two weeks after the midterms.<\/p>\n

Fallon showed a picture of the cover of the book and said, \u201cThe book was written by a ghost writer, Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the second book Biden has written,\u201d the late-night comedian said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe first was \u2018The Odyssey.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He quipped that the book was about what the former president remembered from his presidency and said, \u201cSo it\u2019s three pages.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fallon then brought\u00a0former Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a>\u00a0into his bit and added, \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a strange book because toward the end it starts being written by Kamala Harris.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to representatives of the former president for comment about the jokes but didn\u2019t immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

Biden announced the book in a video posted to X<\/a> Wednesday. <\/p>\n

He added that he has been receiving treatment for\u00a0his cancer diagnosis\u00a0and that it has been going \u201creally well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about the challenges we face as a nation and about the decisions I made and why I made them, leading the country through COVID, rebuilding our economy and restoring our democracy after the attack on January 6th, ending our nation\u2019s longest war in Afghanistan, strengthening NATO and supporting Ukraine,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n

Lindy Li, a former top\u00a0Democratic fundraiser, said Biden was only doing himself a disservice<\/a> by promising the public another explanation of why he decided to run for re-election in 2024 despite mounting concerns about his\u00a0age and cognitive performance.<\/p>\n

The memoir will be released two weeks after the 2026 midterms conclude. Little, Brown and Co. via AP<\/p>\n

In her view, Biden\u2019s upcoming memoir will only serve to reopen painful wounds that Democrats have struggled to move past since the 2024 election loss. <\/p>\n

In a way, she believes the book is a bit of a microcosm of Biden\u2019s presidency.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re thinking, \u2018Why can\u2019t you just\u00a0shut the f\u2014 up?\u2019 Prior to me leaving the party, they wanted nothing to do with this guy. It was so bad that when, finally, Biden exited on July 21, there was no goodbye party other than a staffer one in the Rose Garden.
