In the Romanian city of Ia\u0219i, the clay-court tournament of the Women\u2019s Tennis Association (WTA 250) UniCredit Ia\u0219i Open with a prize fund of nearly $250,000 is underway.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandra Oliynykova (No. 52 in the WTA rankings) in the second round of the competition secured a confident victory over the neutral Elena Pridankina (No. 201) with a score of 6-1, 6-2 in 1 hour 20 minutes.<\/p>\n
Oliynykova will advance to the quarterfinals, her opponent will be the Frenchwoman Claire Burel (No. 630), who in the previous match defeated Elsa Jacquemot (No. 107) \u2013 6-1, 6-1.<\/p>\n
The Ia\u0219i tournament will run until July 19.<\/p>\n
