Man charged after shooting leaves one injured in Clermont County<\/p>\n

A man is facing charges after a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in Clermont County Thursday.<\/p>\n

It happened around 11:05 p.m. when Clermont County deputies were called to a shooting in the 100 block of Sweetbriar Drive in Batavia Township.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff’s office, the 911 caller told dispatchers that a 40-year-old man had been shot and the suspect fled the scene.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. He was taken to Clermont Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Detectives began investigating the incident, reviewing surveillance footage from the area and gathering witness statements that ultimately led them to a suspect, identified as 37-year-old Nathaniel Lee.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff’s office, surveillance video showed the suspect vehicle, a white Honda Accord being driven during the incident. A witness also saw the vehicle leave the scene and travel directly to a residence in the 300 block of Shannon Circle.<\/p>\n

Deputies surrounded that residence and called in a SWAT team to assist, but before SWAT arrived, those inside the home came out, including Lee, who was taken into custody without incident. <\/p>\n

According to the sheriff’s office, Lee said he confronted the man “over comments the man had allegedly made to a family member.” Detectives said Lee then claimed that during the confrontation, the man reached into the vehicle, causing his handgun to fall and discharge. Lee also admitted he was carrying a rifle during the confrontation. <\/p>\n

He has been charged with felonious assault and endangering children.
