Matt Damon and wife Luciana have one \u201cnon-negotiable\u201d as they prepare to be empty nesters. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe have family dinner every night, and that\u2019s non-negotiable, and it\u2019s always been that way,\u201d the \u201cGood Will Hunting\u201d actor told People<\/a> in an interview published Friday.<\/p>\n Although the rule was put in place in order to ensure quality time with their four daughters \u2014 Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15 \u2014 he admitted there are times of \u201cwork going on during dinner,\u201d which they can all improve on.<\/p>\n Matt Damon and wife Luciana have \u201cnon-negotiable\u201d family dinners every night to ensure quality time with their four daughters. WireImage<\/p>\n \u201cOne of my daughters said, \u2018Well, family dinner, last night we didn\u2019t talk.\u2019 And we realized, \u2018Oh my gosh, you\u2019re right,\u2019\u201d Damon recalled to the outlet.<\/p>\n \u201cWe sat down for dinner, and you can get lost in that routine a little bit and not appreciate why you established the routine in the first place,\u201d he added. \u201cSo again, that\u2019s the kind of family mindfulness we\u2019re all working on.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cBourne Identity\u201d star shared that he and Luciana are \u201cfacing and embracing the fact\u201d that all of their daughters will soon be out of the household and are doing their best to make the most out of the time they all have together.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been talking a lot about presence and about really trying to be in the moment, and because you can\u2019t slow time down, the only way to really do it is to really be there and be in it,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n Damon (seen here with Luciana at the \u201cOdyssey\u201d London premiere) also confessed his family\u2019s biggest \u201cchallenge\u201d is getting off their phones.
