If your pets need to be outside to relieve themselves, keep it short. Use air filters for fine particles in your home but avoid pet masks \u2014 they could decrease air flow if the pet starts panicking. \u00a0Keep the animal\u2019s space well ventilated. Aim for increased fans and continuous air movement four times an hour if in a limited area. \u00a0Keep your animals hydrated. The smoky air dries out their respiratory tract, which puts them at greater risk. Be aware of signs of distress. Physical symptoms of air irritation include running noses, sneezing, gagging, coughing, and weeping or swollen eyes.
