\n\tDanila Yurov<\/a> looks like<\/a> the kind of young forward who can force his way into a bigger role, and the case for him getting first- or second-line duty is stronger than it might have seemed a few months ago. The key is that he is not just surviving in the NHL; he\u2019s producing and showing he can handle tougher minutes.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n\tYurov\u2019s production gives the Wild incentive to keep testing him higher in the lineup. He finished the 2025-26 regular season with 12 goals and 15 assists in 73 games, which is solid output for a rookie adjusting to the league. He also had stretches where the Wild used him in more meaningful spots, including a second-line role alongside Marcus Johansson<\/a> and Vladimir Tarasenko<\/a> when injuries created those opportunities.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMinnesota has already shown some willingness to put him near the top of the lineup. John Hynes placed him between Kirill Kaprizov<\/a> and Mats Zuccarello<\/a> on the first line, and the Wild felt they were getting enough from that trio to consider giving it a stronger commitment. If a coach keeps returning to a player in those spots, it usually means the player is earning trust rather than using him solely as an injury replacement.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tYurov adds speed, directness, and a willingness to attack the middle of the ice. On January 2 against the Anaheim Ducks, he scored twice from positions near the net, showing he can finish when he gets into the right areas instead of drifting to the outside. That kind of scoring touch is valuable on a top-six line, where he doesn\u2019t have to drive every possession by himself but can cash in on chances elite passers create.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Wild\u2019s roster context also helps his case. When injuries hit the lineup, Minnesota has needed someone who can move up without looking overwhelmed, and Yurov has been one of the players they could trust in that situation.\n<\/p>\n
