\n\tSix decades after Johnny Cash performed for inmates at San Quentin, Jelly Roll<\/a> continues that legacy and visits the northern California prison for his new video \u201cHands Up.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe singer, who has been open about his own time spent behind bars, called shooting the \u201cHands Up\u201d video, \u201cTruly one of the most special things I\u2019ve ever had the opportunity to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe singer reiterated, \u201cThese are not actors. This is not a movie set.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe moment my life truly changed is when I threw my hands up. I know a lot of folks will hear this and remember their \u2018hands up\u2019 moment as well and that is making this that much cooler for me,\u201d Jelly Roll wrote on social media. \u201cI remember being in the same kind of place all these incarcerated guys are in and what it took for me to finally throw my hands up, to get to do this with them is beyond words for me y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tJelly Roll joins an all-star list of artists \u2014 from Cash to Frank Sinatra to Metallica<\/a> \u2014 to bring their art to the now-San Quentin Rehabilitation Center outside of San Francisco.<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cA thousand thank yous to everyone involved, especially the guys in the facility, San Quinten and every single staff member, everyone who worked on the video from the director to the assistants assistants,\u201d Jelly Roll added. \u201cThis may be the best video of my career but maybe I\u2019ve got recency bias lolol.\u201d<\/p>\n
