\u200bThe International Atomic Energy Agency said \u2060on Sunday that it was \u2060investigating \u200breports \u2060of an \u2060overnight attack on \u200bthe \u2060construction site \u200cof Iran’s planned Darkhovin nuclear \u200cpower plant.<\/p>\n

The \u200cfacility was in \u2060the very early stages of construction and contained no nuclear \u200cmaterial when \u200blast \u200cinspected, \u2060the agency said.<\/p>\n

Donald Trump has announced a 20 per cent fee on cargo ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a move that would dramatically increase the cost of transporting oil through the vital waterway.<\/p>\n

The US president vowed on Monday to charge the fee on all cargo shipped through the strait, a toll that would cover the cost of America’s self-declared role as the \u201cguardian of the Strait\u201d.<\/p>\n

It is an announcement that has already sparked fury from major shipping companies. Hapag-Lloyd, a German firm, said charging fees for passage through international waters \u201cwould be fundamentally wrong\u201d.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Jordan has not ordered evacuation of Aqaba airport or seaport, gov’t spokesperson says <\/p>\n

Jordanian authorities have not issued any decision on Sunday to \u2060evacuate the airport or seaport in Aqaba, the government’s spokesperson told Reuters, after the US embassy in Amman said they had been \u2060evacuated due to \u200ba credible \u2060threat.<\/p>\n

“No potential threats have been recorded by the relevant Jordanian authorities \u2060in the past few hours,” government spokesperson \u200bMohammad \u2060Al-Momani told Reuters in \u200ca written statement. “The airport and port are operating normally.”<\/p>\n

The US embassy had said \u200cthe airport and seaport \u200cwere evacuated due to a “specific and credible threat”, without providing further details.<\/p>\n

It advised Americans to refrain \u2060from travelling to either location and to continue to follow all security directives issued by Jordanian authorities.<\/p>\n

The US military said on Saturday that two of its personnel were killed in Jordan and another was \u200cmissing after an Iranian attack.<\/p>\n

Over the \u200blast week, Jordan has repeatedly \u200csaid that it \u2060has intercepted Iranian missiles flying over its \u2060territory. <\/p>\n
