Atlanta takes the floor as heavy 11.5-point favorites this afternoon, hunting for a fourth victory in their last five outings. But don’t let the straight-up record fool you\u2014the Dream have been highly unkind to bettors recently.<\/p>\n

Expect Chicago to exploit those coverage gaps, making them the sharp side to cover in our Sky vs. Dream predictions.<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Dream<\/a> have seemingly recovered from their midseason slump, but they still aren’t getting the job done for bettors.<\/p>\n

Atlanta has covered just once in its last 10 games. While the Dream have some impressive raw defensive stats, they give up a league-worst 1.18 points per scoring attempt<\/a>, which has kept even weaker opponents in games.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Sky<\/a> do enough to stay close to most opponents, holding opponents to 30.8% from deep and committing only 13.5 turnovers per game.<\/p>\n

I like the Sky to cover at +10 or more.<\/p>\n

While both teams have been playing to the Over lately, I’m skeptical about how many points we’ll see this afternoon.\u00a0The first meeting ended with a total of 157 points, and they’ve hit the Under in each of their last three showdowns.<\/p>\n

I’ll also take Angel Reese<\/a> to hit her rebounding total. Reese is averaging 11.8 boards per game, and has pulled down 13 rebounds in three of her last five games.<\/p>\n

Chicago ranks 12th in the WNBA in rebounding rate (47.2%), which should allow Reese to dominate the glass today.<\/p>\n

I’ve been backing Reese to score a lot this year, and it has mostly paid off. The often-maligned shooter is averaging a career-best 15.7 ppg on 43.4% shooting and has scored 17+ points in each of her last four games.<\/p>\n

While the Sky play good perimeter defense, they allow 89.4 ppg, including an average of 40.9 points in the paint<\/a>. Throw in the fact Reese will dominate the offensive glass against Chicago, and I love her to hit the Over on her scoring total today.<\/p>\n
